Optimising page content - Web page analysis
There are many free tools on the Internet to help you analyse your web page for keyword performance. One site which is quite useful is www.submitexpress.com This has a useful tool called “meta tags analyser” which analyses given web pages and presents the information clearly.
Using this tool one can enter the web site home page details as shown below to see how effective the page structure and content is with regard to different keywords. The Meta Tags Analyser will trawl through the page and display the results. It initially gives a report on all the meta tags. This free tool will analyse anchor tags, IMAGE alt tags and keyword density as well. These are shown below.
The keyword analysis looks at density of single keywords as well as 2 word and 3 word phrases.
As we are looking at the two words together, the fact that keyword proximity is not analysed is not of huge importance to us. However what this analyser does not show is the keyword prominence. That is how close to the start of the text the words “Bluetooth headset” are. Further in this chapter we will look at an analysis tool that takes this into account as well.
For a different way of analysing web pages, the free tool on the web site www.ranks.nl is quite interesting to look at. From the home page of this web site, choose the “Keywords Density Analyser” option. The keywords and phrases which have the highest density are shown pictorially. The site uses a “wizard score” to rank the various web sites.
